wheelchair/walker access into our vegetable garden - May 2011
Our winter project this year was 120' of sidewalk out to the vegetable garden and 150' of garden planter wall. We included a nice little patio in the middle of the garden complete with call bell wired into our main system. Just in time for the May long weekend planting.
You can sit back and enjoy or you can get a little dirt under your nails. Strawberries will need picking soon.
Developing our 1.87 acres over the past twenty years has brought us great pleasure. There is a variety of ornamental, deciduous, conifer, hazel, walnut & fruit trees, perennial gardens, grapes, kiwi's, banana & bamboo stands, a 2,000 gallon fish pond and gunera, the Chilian rainforest giant with six foot diameter leaves.
We have worked a large vegetable garden on the property for the past fourteen years. It's a well established deep, rich garden with a central pathway wide enough for scooters. Fresh vegetables in season and canning throughout the rest of the year.
18 fruit trees provide many of our desserts and pie fillings. We have some great diabetic recipes.
